The kids had their picture taken with Santa today. They were VERY excited and had been waiting anxiously since last night to go see Santa. McKenna wanted to know if Mrs.Claus was going to be there and if not then why not? They both wanted to know where the Reindeer were, since we didn't see them. Jace was a little shy at first but McKenna jumped right up on his lap! Afterwards, Jace kept asking why he didn't get to "go up, up, up in Santa's sleigh" apparently he thought they could take a ride with Santa and was disappointed they didn't get to. McKenna told Santa she wanted "a lot of dolls" and Jace wanted a "green truck to put his lawn mower in the back and close the door".

Politics on Halloween

This picture is of McKenna and her friend with "Sarah Palin" this girl was hysterical--she even talked like her--the kids thought it was kinda weird but we had a good laugh.

Halloween

Here are a few pictures from Halloween. McKenna loved dressing up at Snow White and Jace was a "Lawnmower Boy" although he ditched the lawnmower when it interfered with running up to every house! They were so cute and so excited to ring the doorbell and say "Trick or Treat" my son even resorted to kicking on a door when no one would answer--he's such a boy..... We went trick or treating with the little girl across the street, she's the one dressed like "Jesse" from Toy Story--she LOVES Woody and Jesse :) The first picture is of McKenna and her friend with "Sarah Palin" this girl was hysterical--she even talked like her--the kids thought it was kinda weird but we had a good laugh.

South Plains Fair

we went to the fair, always expensive but the twins really enjoyed it this year.
Of course I like to go just to eat the corndogs and we had fried oreos but by that time the mosquitos were out in full force so we ran for the car to eat them inside. Jace and McKenna loved the animals (I tolerate it b/c I know there is a bathroom right across the way to wash hands immediately following!) They also loved the Ferris wheel, they weren't scared at all. The picture of them sitting down is of them waiting patiently for our turn. I love the pictures with dad!

Long update...........

September kicked my butt at work but I'm on the downhill slide to getting back to a "normal" schedule--just gotta make it to Halloween. So of course in the midst of the chaos or is it "chaosplexity" honey?? I didn't update weekly and then because I had so many pictures and so many things to talk about it snowballed into "I can't do it because it won't be in perfect order and I won't have said all the perfect things about all the pictures" where do I get the idea that my life is perfect---how old am I?? how long have I been trying to do perfect?? forever, it's a demon I fight on a daily basis but as usual I look around and realize I have a really great life, an amazing husband and 3 phenomenal kids and a job I enjoy so here goes the update late, imperfect but always makes me smile.

Train

Mom had collected some boxes to pack some stuff up and the kids confiscated them and turned it into their "choo choo train" apparently it kept them busy all afternoon.

One funny thing to share: on tuesday I had worked until after 6:00pm and picked the kids up from mom's, went to Sonic for dinner and as we were waiting for our food McKenna is yelling at me "mommy how do they get inside the sonic thing"? I apparently wasn't getting thru to her by explaining there wasn't really a person inside the speaker it was kinda of like a phone-she thinks I don't understand what she is asking and keeps yelling "no, mommy how do they get inside!" I gave up trying to convince her otherwise. Then later that night she is wailing because "Jace took the color pink and that's my favorite!" he didn't take anything pink he just said "the color pink is mine". I tried to convince her that he couldn't just take the color pink that there was a lot of pink in the world and there was plenty for her. Did I mention this all took place after I had worked nearly 10 hours that day, Jim was gone to class until 9:30pm, Taylor gone to work till 9:00 and then after they finally get to sleep I get to help the teenager write an essay using metaphors??????? Just a day in the life..........................

Monday, September 15, 2008

the twins went to their first "official" birthday party. It was for the little girl across the street, she was turning 3. It was at a place called "Ready, Set, Go" and the kids had a really good time. McKenna's favorite was the rings, she would hold on, let the staff(girl who worked there) push her out and then fall into a pit of foam blocks--she did this for about 30 minuts straight and her hair was soaked she was so hot!! Jace had fun on the bungee swing and jumping on the trampolines.
School was good this week. I took pictures of their "work" it's their handprints and paperplate faces. If you will notice there is the super glue tube super glued to Jace's because of course he broke it when he was holding it just "because I wanted to" and I got the superglue out (surprised we actually had some in our house) and tried to get the lid off but it wouldn't budge so I set it down on the hand to go break up a sharing issue and when I came back the tube had leaked all over the hand and not in the place it was broken and the entire tube is now super glued to the hand--so goes our life........my analogy is that our life is that way but the superglue still has us glued together mostly........

I added a picture of Taylor, this is one of the 5 million she has taken of herself because when your are 16 you must have the right profile picture for you myspace page but it reminds how pretty and sweet she is.

The last picture I took is of the kids having a bedtime snack last night.
